Hello, and thanks for stopping by!

I’m Taylor, and I’ve somehow managed to land my dream job capturing stories and photos internationally with my favorite nonprofit organization.

Okay, so it’s an unpaid fellowship. But between July of 2016 and 2017, I get to live and work in the Dominican Republic as Plant With Purpose’s field communications fellow.

As for the organization, Plant With Purpose empowers rural farming families, communities, and church leaders around the world with tools and capacity to reverse deforestation and overcome rural poverty. As for my position, I get to capture a portion of the voices and transformative stories of these community members.

Much of my professional work contributes to the Plant With Purpose website (which you can check out here); but this blog, on the other hand, serves as more of a personal journal to share and make sense of everything I’m experiencing in my new country.

So if you decide to read on, whether friend, family member, or random internet adventurer, you can expect to read a somewhat organized assortment of near-death stories and awkward interactions in Spanish, but also impactful moments of growth and my own little nuggets of truth I discover along the way.

I hope you enjoy; and if you’d like, feel free to share your thoughts as well! I’m honored to partake in this ever-transformative experience, and I’m thrilled to bring you along with me.
